The Nature Conservancy has released their conservation plan for the Upper Santa Clara River Watershed. The plan highlights the ecological assets, or conservation targets, of the upper watershed, and analyzes land uses, conditions and activities that threaten the viability of the targets. Based on the analysis of targets and threats, the plan identifies strategies that can be undertaken by partners and stakeholders of the watershed to enhance the viability of the conservation targets as well as to abate the threats to them.
